FOUNDER/ DIRECTOR Alisha Sickler-Brunelli | BFA, MS Ed, NYS Teaching Certificate Alisha has been an artist, art educator, and active member in the Binghamton community for the past 18 years. She found her love for teaching right out of college as an art specialist at the former private, progressive Susquehanna School at Southbridge . From here her path led to getting her graduate degree in education science, and then into teaching public art education K-12, all while teaching private lessons on the side. In 2014 she decided to leave public school to start KAPOW. Her personal work spans from digital mixed media, drawing, installation, and assemblage to commercial graphic design projects. Her deep interest in education science and entrepreneurship informs her work/projects. In addition to having a blast overseeing 'the crazy' at KAPOW, she teaches in the Art & Design Department at Binghamton University. She loves reading and drawing with her daughter, August, cooking up a storm for friends and family, and visiting flea markets for strange objects. (Support local!)
